Planet Token

Planets are utility tokens issued on the Algorand blockchain. Planets are earned when a sensor sends valid air quality data to PlanetWatch.

Earth Credits

Are needed to obtain most PlanetWatch products and services and to settle network fees. Earth Credits are non-exchangeable and tied to a single user. The price of Earth Credits is fixed in EUR.

Maximum supply:
4,500,000,000 Planets

95% of max supply is used to reward air quality data sent to PlanetWatch over time.

5% of max supply is allocated immediately to PlanetWatch.

Planets can be used to purchase Earth Credits from PlanetWatch at a discounted price.

In Fiat money, at the unit price of 0.10 €
In Planet tokens at the discounted unit price of 0.09 €. Planet equivalent is computed using the prevailing market rate.

Token FAQs

How many Planets can I earn per day?

Under current rules, this is the way it works:

- The Atmotube PRO sensor currently earns 0.06 Planets for each data stream. The default streaming frequency is 2 minutes, but the actual streaming frequency depends on a number of factors (whether the sensor’s battery is sufficiently charged and it is connected via Bluetooth to your mobile phone, which must be connected to the internet, the PlanetWatch app is correctly installed and active, technical faults, etc.).

- The Arianna sensor currently earns 0.09 Planets for each data stream. The default streaming frequency is 5 minutes, but the actual streaming frequency depends on a number of factors (whether the sensor’s battery is sufficiently charged and the sensor is connected to the internet via WiFi, technical faults, etc.).

PLEASE note that the Planet token model will be updated and modified in the coming weeks and this may affect Planet earnings.

Why iPhone users might earn fewer tokens with the Atmotube PRO than Android users?

If you have an iPhone, the PlanetWatch App does not send data to our network when in background mode. This could have a significant impact on the amount of Planets earned.

Who owns sensor data?

PlanetWatch owns all sensor data. However, you are free to use the data generated by your sensor for non-commercial purposes.
